NOVAAR Safety Check-in Officer Guidelines
NAR Safety Code
NAR High Power Safety Code

All high power flyers at a NOVAAR launch must show proof of current membership in
the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) or the Tripoli Rocketry
Association (TRA), with the appropriate HPR certification level.
These prerequisites exist at all NAR or Tripoli launches throughout
the country.  If you are a member in good standing and certified, you may
fly at a NOVAAR event.  Non-members pay $5 for each high-power flight.
There is a $10 charge for non-member's high-power certification flight.
Motor size is limited to a  J or less. Our FAA waiver is 4,500 feet AGL.
Rocket motors that use titanium sponge in the propellant ("sparky") are not allowed at NOVAAR launches.

If you are not a member of either national organization, you must join one
before completing the certification process.  As NOVAAR is an NAR Section,
we follow NAR guidelines in certifying individual flyers.  Details on the certification process may
be found at http://www.nar.org/high-power-rocketry-info/.   More information is availble from our
High Power Coordinator, Tim Bookwalter.

Please note, drones are not allowed at Great Meadow.
