Building Session 18 March

Starting March 6, 2018 - Ending March 19, 2018 Expired

There will be a competition model rocket building session on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 1 to 5 pm.

We will be constructing a rocket that can be used to compete in the NAR's Parachute Duration event using a 13mm 'A' class motors (1/4A, 1/2A and A').  And, this rocket can easily be modified to compete in the Streamer Duration event.

We will be meeting at the University Mall Community Space.  The mall is located at the intersection of route 123 (Ox Road) and Braddock Road.  The room is located on the lower level behind the Giant store two doors down from the ABC store.

Directions to the site are at: Mall Leasing Flyer 2017.pdf.  The space is about three miles west of the meeting room at the Braddock Road Government Center.

NOVAAR has bought a number of Aerospace Specialty Products (ASP - 13 mm Parachute Duration kits because the best altitude can be achieved with 13-mm motors, and it includes a 15-inch 1/4-mil mylar parachute kit.

This rocket can be converted to a Streamer Duration model by replacing the parachute with a suitable streamer.  The streamer can be fabricated easily or be purchased separately.

The kit costs $12 and can be purchased on Sunday at the Community Space.  Please bring building materials: wood glue; sandpaper; x-actos; etc.

Please contact Adam @ if you are interested in participating.

How long will your rocket stay aloft?
