Capitol Cup 16 and 17 September

Starting August 28, 2017 - Ending September 21, 2017 Expired

Every two years NOVAAR hosts an international rocket contest called the Capitol Cup. We have been hosting it since 2007 on odd-numbered years. This contest is sanctioned by the international governing body for all aeromodelling, the FAI, and the models and rules are the same as those flown in the biennial World Championships of rocketry. This aspect of the sport is described on the NAR website at http://www.nar.org/contest-flying/fai-spacemodeling/ . The Capitol Cup will be attended by most members of the US Team that will be competing in the World Championship in Poland in 2018. They will travel here from all over the country to practice together and will be joined by five Canadian FAI flyers. The Capitol cup will held on both Saturday, 16 September, and Sunday, 17 September, at Great Meadow. NOVAAR will hold a normal rocket launch on Saturday, but not on Sunday. Details of the event are listed below.
