Ramblings from the Webmaster

Welcome to NOVAAR's Content Management System.
This is still in development stage, but once we get it all set up, it will allow for a lot more dynamic web page with member interaction. For now members cannot log into the system, but once we finished setting it up and testing it, members will be able to login and add certain specified content, such as signing up for Meeting topics online.

Whew!
I have been editing and writing web pages for 13 years (the editor of choice then was notepad).
Websites have come a long way since then and I have never been a fan of CMS (Content Management System) and this project has not changed my mind about it. It has a number of disadvantages, however it's big advantage is it's ability to deliver a dynamic site. This actually started only as a way for members to keep their own personal information up to date. It sorta grew from there. Little did I know I was taking on a NARAM R&D project.
Anyway, the new website is complete.
Well not really. But most of the members have been added to the user list (except 2). This has been a major undertaking, but to make it worthwhile members need become a part of keeping the website dynamic and up to date. It has a number of features that will allow NOVAAR to plan and schedule club functions. It also allows members to update their personal information, with out Will having to update his data base. To make changes to your information. just login and click on my account, then on edit. It also allows us to place club member only info on the website. When you login you will also see a NOVAAR Information menu on the left side. I have also created a member links page that you can edit add your own links. It also allows members to edit Meeting pages so that you can sign up online to do Meeting Topics.
I will schedule a Meeting topic on using the new website in the next month or so. In meantime of you have any questions just e-mail me at dan.winings@novaar.org

Adding Members to the Users list
I have begun adding members to the users list, this may take some time. As I add your membership info you should get login information via e-mail. I will post a notice in the BB when I have finished. Please be patent, but once this step is completed we will have a much more functional and dynamic web page.

I have moved the new website
I have moved the new website into "live" status. Please keep in mind that at this time we are not adding members to the Drupal CMS system, and if you have a Bulletin Board username and password it will not work for drupal so you can ignore the login on the website. Most of the site is readable by all users even though you are not logged in. When the site is fully operational and we start allowing members to login, you will have some options that are not available to non-members. You will get an e-mail when we add the members.
If you experiance any problems with this site, please hit the refresh on your browser, before contacting me. I am still tweaking the site so refreshing may fix your problem. If you have any suugesttion or comment please e-mail me at dan.winings@novaar.org

Nice job Dan
I wanted to say... nicely done Dan!
I am having fun browsing around ... I especially enjoyed looking at the image of Great Meadow... I was even tempted to zoom in closer and closer trying to find our lost rockets! :D
